A spring is flowing water sprouting from the
ground, most commonly induced by an acquiclude barring the downward separation
of water, making it flow instead from a hillside. Hot springs, like the Miette
hot springs in Jasper originate from springs lying directly above the crust of
the Earth containing magma chambers close to the surface. Also called mineral springs, hot springs contain
a good amount of minerals broken down from surrounding rocks, and because of
this the water is alternately used for medicinal purposes. This explains the popularity of said attractions!
